Robin Van Persie has scored 13 goals for Arsenal this season.

Van Persie has just 18 months until his contract runs out.

The Dutchman is says he will remain with Arsenal and sign a new deal.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger wants the 28-year-old to commit to a new long-term contract, with his current agreement due to expire in June 2013, but Van Persie does not want to discuss his status until the summer.

‘He is the role model of Arsenal, the star player and they cannot afford to lose him.
‘I don’t know if they will keep him. ‘We will see what he decides but he’s been very loyal to Arsenal for a few years. He is a key player, the fans love him.’

‘He is having an amazing season. Hopefully he will be fit for the whole season.

‘Unfortunately when I was there, he never enjoyed a whole season without injury.’

Man City and Inter Milan are among the clubs that are interested in Van Persie’s situation.
