Arsenal v Manchester United

In the run up to Sunday’s clash, some interesting facts have emerged.

Manchester United are the first team to be crowned Premiership champions with four games to spare in the season since Arsenal’s unbeaten season in 2003-04.

Robin van Persie will play at the Emirates for the first time since his transfer to United last summer. Arsenal will welcome Van Persie by giving him and his Premiership Championship winning team-mates the traditional guard of honor.

FC Arsenal is chasing a top four finish to clinch a 16th consecutive season of Champions League football.

Arsenal have received five red cards in Premier League this season – two more than any other club. Manchester United have yet to receive any.

Arsenal have scored more goals in the final 15 minutes of matches than Manchester United.

Robin van Persie has scored 17 goals in his last 17 Premier League appearances at the Emirates and has scored in the last three matches between these two. Arsenal’s top goal scorer Santi Cazorla has scocred 12 goals. Olivier Giroud has scored 11 goals, but will be out after Arsenal’s bid to appeal his red card against Fulham was rejected.
Arsenal have won just one of their last 11 matches against United in all competitions.

Arsenal won five of their last six matches.

Several players are just shy of the ten appearances required to win a Premier League winner’s medal.

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly will play more of his fringe players from now until the end of the season.

Fergie is determined to secure maximum points from their remaining games in order to break the record points by any club in the Premier League.

In November, Robin van Persie scored at three minutes against his former teammates and United went on to win 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Arsenal Two Points Clear of Chelsea

Premier League : Arsenal 0-0 Everton

Arsenal faced FC Everton in a game that ended with a 0-0 result that only pleased Chelsea and Spurs as the intense and entertaining goalless draw was not the outcome either team wanted.

Arsenal has moved up to the top four of the Premiership and is dueling with the top clubs in England in a springtime competition to end up in the top four.

David Moyes left the Emirates with Everton two points adrift of the pack with only five more games to play – with matches against Sunderland, Liverpool and Chelsea.

‘We need favours,’ said Phil Jagielka.

The draw moved Arsenal two points clear of Chelsea but they have played two games more – this may be the year the Gunners go out of the Champions League.

At half-time, Kevin Mirallas squirted water into Jack Wilshere’s face.
