AC Milan 4-0 Arsenal FC – Champions League Last 16

After AC Milan’s stunning 4-0 Champions League victory against Arsenal FC, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was celebrated Milan’s four-goal cushion going into the second leg.

“It was a night of great emotion because we won a difficult match with a great result and the side played brilliantly. You don’t beat Arsenal 4-0 every day,” said Ibrahimovic.

Milan delivered an exciting win to their fans at the San Siro last night -with support from superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg match between AC Milan and Arsenal at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on February 15, 2012 in Milan, Italy.

Robinho, Boateng and Ibrahimovic starred at San Siro yesterday giving Milan a strong lead in the last 16.

Kevin-Prince Boateng opened the scoring with a powerful and stunning goal.

Then Robinho scored twice aided by Ibrahimovic.

And Zlatan Ibrahimovic added a definitive penalty shot to complete the damage to the Gunners.

Thierry Henry came in at the break, playing his last game for Arsenal before the end of his loan spell.

The second leg of the tie will be played in London with Milan enjoying the security of a four-goal cushion. Arsenal v AC Milan Tickets Champions League 6 Mar 2012 19:45 Emirates Stadium London, United Kingdom

Arsenal v Manchester United – Tickets

Arsenal v Manchester United – Tickets

Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal on Sunday will be a treat to their fans. The two teams have battled at the top of Premiership all season.

Arsenal’s defeat to Bolton last week did not rule the Premier League out for the Gunners.

Having hoped for a treble, Arsene Wenger’s men may end up without a trophy.

Surely, Wenger will be determined to defeat his old foe Sir Alex Ferguson, whose side are getting close to the title and UEFA Champions League final appearance.

Their 2-0 win over Schalke was a game-changer – giving Man Utd a solid foot in the door for the Champions League trophy.

A six-point lead over Chelsea means just a few more points are needed to bring home a record 19th title in the Premiership.

United has won six of their last seven against the Gunners, boasting an excellent record at the Emirates, having not lost there since 2007.

Dimitar Berbatov will return to the United squad having missed the last three matches with a groin injury sustained in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

Arsenal’s Paul Scholes serves the last of his three-match ban following his dismissal in the FA Cup semi final defeat to Manchester City.

Arsenal: Sczeszny, Sagna, Koscielny, Djourou, Clichy, Song, Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott, Arshavin, Van Persie.

Man Utd: Van der Sar, O’Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Giggs, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, Hernandez.

Arsenal Buckled Under Pressure

Although Arsenal has fought hard all season to stay in the second position on the top of the Premier League, Javier Hernandez said Arsenal buckled under the pressure of chasing a treble.

Arsenal played in a Carling Cup final, the FA Cup fifth round, the UEFA Champions League second round and also provided the biggest threat to Manchester United’s title charge as they clashed at the top.

A cup final defeat to Birmingham was followed by Champions League and FA Cup exits to Barcelona and United.

The Gunners have fallen to third place in the Premiership behind Chelsea – and now trail Man United by nine points.

“I believed Arsenal would be our main opponents – they have excellent players,” said Hernandez.

“Perhaps the pressure damaged them, those defeats against Barcelona and Birmingham in the Carling Cup final.

“But United is a team that never knows when it is defeated. Our spirit and history creates fear in our rivals.

“If we are 2-0 down with 20 minutes to go, people know we can come back. That doesn’t happen at other clubs.”

Arsenal host champions-elect United on Sunday, requiring a win to keep their faint title hopes alive.

“They will be difficult to beat so once again we must put in a big effort,” said Hernandez about Arsenal.

“We also have to play Chelsea. I know they will fight until the last minute to protect their title but the outcome is in our hands.

“If we win these matches we win the Premier League.”
